Type 421 : 6 Volt Hard Rubber Battery
for classic and vintage cars, vans, commercial vehicles, tractors,
buses, coaches, agricultural machinery and marine equipment such as
barges and boats.
Our vintage hard rubber batteries are hand made by a leading manufacturer to original
specification and now incorporate the latest battery technology including :
hard rubber vibration proof container, silver calcium lead alloy, extra
thick plates, envelope separation, epoxy resin lid seals, bitumen
finish and external lead connectors and battery posts.
These period looking batteries will make your classic / vintage / beloved antique 'old timer' stand out from the rest.
We can supply batteries 'dry charged' with acid packs ready for you to
fill and fully charge. We can also supply hard rubber batteries filled
and fully charged on request.
Please wear disposable gloves when filling your battery. Remove the
screw-tops, fill the battery to approx 1/4 inch (0.5cm) above the internal plates.
Allow to stand for 2-3 hours then re-check the levels and adjust if
necessary.
Many vehicles and equipment that these batteries are fitted to are not
used regularly so it is essential to use a 'trickle charger' or 'battery
conditioner' to keep the battery fully charged. Doing so will also significantly
prolong the battery lifespan.
