What is this product ideal for ?
This product is ideal for maintaining batteries that are not in constant
use. These include Leisure batteries e.g. Caravans and
Motorhomes, Golf Trolley Batteries plus Classic and Vintage Car
Batteries, Quad Bike Batteries etc.
Could this charger overcharge and ruin my battery ?
This charger is designed specifically to maintain / condition 12 volt
batteries and to shut off the power when fully charged. Provided
that your battery is based on lead acid technology and is 12 volts it
will never be overcharged. If you are not sure about suitability
then please call us!
Can I use this maintenance charger to charge a flat battery ?
You can use this trickle charger for flat batteries but it will take
longer than an ordinary dedicated battery charger as the output rate is
500mA. If you attempted to charge a 110 Ah Leisure Battery from
flat it would take several days, possibly longer. In such
instances we would recommend that you browse our CTEK Charger Range
How long does this charger take to top up my battery ?
This product is designed for batteries that are used only occasionally
and will automatically switch off the power when your battery is fully
charged. The length of time it takes varies according to your
battery size and how run down it is.
Does it draw a lot of power from the mains ?
It compares to a low wattage light bulb in terms of how much power it uses.
Can I use this charger to test a battery ?
This charger does not have that capability. Please view our CTEK Chargers.
Can I leave it plugged in and unsupervised ?
We always advise that batteries are charged in a well ventilated area to
avoid oxyhydrogen buildup. This charger is designed for constant
use and is guaranteed for 3 Years.
